Earth Rx: A Climate Change Symposium
Join Us October 2nd, from 2 pm to 4:30 pm at Central United Methodist Church as we discuss the following topics:
- How does climate change affect your health and your children’s health?
- What are the main impacts of climate change and why should we care?
- Why does climate change raise ethical issues?
Our time will be led by our keynote speakers, Claire Elliott Herrick, MD, and Sonja Klinsky.
Claire Elliott Herrick, MD is an ObGyn and a State Coordinator with Citizens' Climate Lobby. She grew up in Wisconsin and moved to the southwest 9 years ago. She loves caring for women andwelcoming babies into the world.She is also passionate about preserving the world they're arriving into! She recently joined theBanner-University Medical Center Tucson where she teaches and inspires the next generation of doctors.
Sonja Klinsky is currently an Assistant Professor at Arizona State University’s School of Sustainability. Her work has continually centered around the policy challenges presented by climate change with a focuson questions of justice. This has included collaborative work withorganizations such as the World Resources Institute and other policy-science interface organizations in order to develop concrete theoretically sound andpolitically relevant proposals for designingand implementing just climate action.
